Enjoy this Article that shares how Nowruz – The Persian New Year – was celebrated this year in Burlington with Meditation, Surprise Birthdays and a Strengthened Sense of Community
We selected a few excerpts from the Local News that announced our traditional Nowruz Program
Sahaja Yoga Meditation Network of Halton volunteers had a very busy Weekend!
On Saturday, March 21, 2026 we held a beautiful going deeper Halton Sahaja Yoga Meditation Seminar here in Burlington, as we do every year: we honour the birthday of Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi – the founder of Sahaja Yoga Meditation – by spreading her beautiful legacy she left behind, for all humanity to cherish.
The event was attended by people joining from 6 cities: Burlington, Oakville, Mississauga, Etobicoke, Hamilton and London.

Let’s find out how some Seekers of Truth and Mother Earth’s Children Celebrated their New Beginnings this past weekend!
We thought that this Sahaja Yoga Meditation Seminar will gather together only participants from our regular in-person and online meditation classes (check here the Calendar of Free Events); however, a beautiful seeker of truth, who never meditated before joined us too. After meditation, as we shared our experiences, she confided to us that she felt peaceful, and filled with gratitude, lots of gratitude.
Later on we found out that among all present there were 4 continents represented: Africa, America, Asia and Europe.
The agenda expanded, we included an ad-hoc mini “self-realization” class followed by sharing special experiences of connection that prepared us for diving deeper into the teachings of our spiritual teacher.

Let’s challenge your attention with a Mix of photos from both Sahaja Yoga Meditation Events offered in Halton region on March 21 and March 22, as well with Media postings about them
It was lovely to look around and see Mother Earth’s Children in harmony (some of them met each other for the first time), taking the breakfast together, meditating, sharing experiences of connectivity, then taking the lunch together; lots of laughter and kindness all around in the house that opened its doors for the first time to such a gathering: the hosting family moved in just days before!
We also witnessed little miracles that happened by the end of the Seminar when we launched the new season for Sahaj Guru Game: it was truly an auspicious day.
When we left the house we witnessed the arrival of the 1st day of Spring: it was the warmest and the sunniest weather experienced so far in 2026!
Our 100 Seeds of Joy Team is very grateful after noticing how this Weekend of Sahaja Yoga Meditation events was supported by the Local Media with Two articles, both mentioning March 21st being not only the Spring Equinox but also Shri Mataji’s Birthday, and one of them kindly presented our recent Meditation Programs offered (with great feedback!) in the Halton Schools!
Time to Relax and Celebrate after a very Busy week!
We were very busy the week earlier, with our three weekly (and always Free!) meditation classes offered in Burlington and Oakville, also the 5 weekly (and always Free!) online meditation and above all with preparations for meditation workshops offered at the request of various Community partners.
Therefore, on Sunday March 22 we were ready to Celebrate Nowruz with our traditional annual public program that is inviting the community to join together and experience peace and harmony.
We hoped to have representatives from the local Iranian community, which did happen!
We Share a few photos with those that stayed until the very end and wanted to be In!
Enjoy the Feedback received from the Iranian Daughter and Mother who Joined the Event, as well from the Students:
The little Iranian girl said, that “The moment I entered the room I felt I belong.”
Her mother shared with us, after the guided meditation, that:
“For many months I had anxiety, with everything that goes in Iran and many many thoughts, but during this meditation I felt at peace for the first time in a long time. Thank you!”
We were also glad to hear a positive feedback from the two students (grade 9 and 11) that joined the Nowruz event that the guided meditation helped them feel at peace and de-stressed.
Some of these beautiful photos were taken by Peter – the reporter who joined our Sunday event! Such a pleasant surprise to see him as we know what a busy schedule he and their team have due to many big happenings across Halton region.
Do You want to Know about a Special Serendipity Moment involving a Carrot Cake and Special Surprise Birthdays?! Here there is:
We already mentioned how busy is our team of volunteers with the 100 Seeds of Joy community initiative that takes us everywhere across Halton region and beyond. Therefore, whenever we get a chance, which we can seldom choose and pick, we also attempt to celebrate our Volunteers!
Earlier this month was Paula’s birthday and just the day before our Sunday program we found out that possibly a local musician will attend our event with her daughter so I dared ask if possible to sing with us Happy Birthday (as a surprise) for our dear friend. She graciously accepted!
The artist joined our Nowruz Celebration but a bit later later and also seemed to have a cold, so we dropped that idea.
Before the event, a young lady announced the organizers of her heartfelt intention of baking a carrot cake for our Potluck; ultimately couldn’t, due to exam studies.
Guess what?!
Somebody else that had no clue about these preparations for Paula’s surprise birthday celebration, baked a lovely carrot cake and brought it to our event! Then, during a completely random re-arrangement of the chairs in the room, as we created a nice rainbow for the “Personal Experience Sharing”, exactly four chairs were aligned in the center of the rainbow.
Who ended up to sit on the “most central one”?! Paula!
Who was sitting next to her? Anoma, who is born on March 21st! So we had to celebrate her too!
You might wonder who were the persons sitting on the other 2 “centrally positioned” chairs? Precisely the artist and her student daughter, both attended for the very first time a 100 Seeds of Joy. Therefore we ended up giving “special attention” to all four of them: sending waves of positivity into their direction, one at a time.
It was another wonderful event on an otherwise somber rainy day; as Peter was saying, there was no better way to spend the time on that Sunday, other than together: reaching inner peace within, making new friends, creating new positive experiences, learn about meaningful connections from a variety of cultures, imbibe with Persian poetry and Yoga knowledge.
Of course, the last but not the least: enjoy a great potluck (healthy and tasty) while chatting with wonderful people and feeling the Spring vibrations in your heart.
Something more: Vanda (the musician) and Paula actually knew each other as Paula always admired and supported Vanda’s musical talent and it was cool to see their surprise to meet again here, precisely on Paula’s surprise birthday and Vanda to know that “the friend’s birthday” mentioned in my emails to her, was actually Paula!
We wish a Happy Birthday to Everyone born on March 21st and New Beginnings to All
Sarah’s Encounter on March 21st, 2026 with the Founder – Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi
Sarah and Oscar are coming to our Halton Sahaja Yoga Meditation classes for precisely a year; we were welcomed to their new Burlington home on March 21st, 2026 for the “Birthday Going Deeper Seminar”; after the collective meditation she shared with all of us that her tears were falling towards the end of the meditation as she saw and felt Shri Mataji hugging her and telling her, “Be Good” to which she replied ” I am trying!” and she experienced Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi’s love for her. (they never met in person as our spiritual teacher detached from her physical existence on February 23rd, 2011).
Shri Mataji’s teachings and devotion for Humanity’s positive evolution are as present as ever & we all try to “Be good”.

I am covered in positive flowing vibrations from this beautiful day and this article. It is a place of peace we can access together through this very special method of yoga connection. It is probably the fastest way to reach those heights, after which the depth permeates and we attain superpowers through enlightenment. We may be searching and have searched everywhere to find peace and to feel this joyful from the powerful connection to the all pervading power of the universe. We may not know what we are seeking exactly, a settling down of inner calm, yet uplifted existence. This is the reset button you needed. And to say it changed my life for the better is just the beginning. It is a connection I celebrate when I reunite with this beautifully growing and heart expanding group willing to experiment with their own search for truth in this vast age of information. A guided meditation, and yoga connection that you can feel is an ever joyful journey to our higher selves. Afterwards, I take that feeling to go, for the force is with us 24/7 after achieving self realization. We are luminous. And this event was a slice of heavenly cake. Look how everyone is shining. The beauty is all around us. And this oneness is a beautiful unifying force.
Diversity and unity in meditation is what I experience every time I meditate online or in person with Sahaja Yoga practitioners. To be able to silence our minds and reach the thoughtless awareness is the what these classes are offering and the community is definitely benefiting. Looking forward to more sessions.
Beautiful celebrations
