Let’s Enjoy Together the Recognition received by our 100 Seeds of Joy Team of Volunteers from the Ontario Government & a Member of ON Parliament with the occasion of the 11th FREE Festival of New Beginnings

In fact in the photo – from our 11th Free Festival of New Beginnings – we are sharing the original Recognition received from the Government of Ontario as well the Proclamation from the Mayor of Burlington, declaring May 5, 2026 as “Sahaja Yoga Meditation Day”

Let us share with you in this article the details related to the surprise recognition we received just days before the Festival.

Surprise! We got a call from the office of MPP Effie Triantafilopoulos for Oakville North-Burlington to collect a beautiful recognition from the Ontario Government!

We were in the midst of the last days of intense preparations for the 11th FREE Festival of New Beginnings – our annual spring public program that gathers at times hundreds of people.

People come to enjoy this opportunity of enjoying multi-cultural artistic festivities as well to learn about Yoga and Meditation instructive knowledge and even better, to try meaningful guided meditations together.

This FREE Festival of New Beginnings became one of the most popular gifts to our beloved Burlington and Halton community offered by our Cultivators of Joy team of volunteers from Sahaja Yoga Meditation Network.

You can see above three photos from the Festival of New Beginnings 2023 when we launched the 100 Seeds of Joy community initiative with Mrs. Marianne Meed Ward, The Mayor of Burlington and Mr. Sanjeev Saklani, HOC (Head Of Chancery) on behalf of Consul General of India at Toronto, Ms. Apoorva Srivastava.

We are glad and honored to say that our relationships with the Halton community and its various representatives happened in such an organic way (or as we like to call it ‘sahaj’/ natural and spontaneous).

Indeed, those hearts and minds that are aligned in deeply caring for their neighbours and for the places they live in, and with the will power to ‘do something about it’, will somehow brought Together by this invisible omnipotent force or energy that nurtures the Positivity in people and surroundings. This is my personal belief based on facts (such as: my entire life). 🙂

Let’s get on track to hand out to you (visually only) the surprise recognition from MPP Effie Triantafilopoulos for Oakville North-Burlington, also on behalf of the Government of Ontario, for our Festival & 100 Seeds of Joy team of volunteers.

The recognition came as a surprise, but it means a lot because MPP Effie really knows us, she saw us “around” and “in action” many times and even joined our other annual free festival we offer in Burlington: the Festival of Inner Lights & the Flag Raising Ceremony for “Sahaja Yoga Meditation Day” in 2025 in the presence of other officials at the Burlington City Hall..

Therefore, when MPP Effie is speaking (to us or about us) we listen & receive the message with wide open hearts as it comes from somebody that “sees” us and shares our commitment to serving our community members towards building a beautiful life for themselves and for everyone around them, and as we say it simply: “cultivate seeds of joy and seek their self-realization”.

Drum Rolling!! Here it comes the Recognition for 100 Seeds of Joy with the occasion of our Free Festival of New Beginnings 2026 celebrated on May 17 at the Burlington Lions Club

We had the pleasure of sharing it with Everyone during our Festival of New Beginnings, via the following slide inserted in the festival’s presentation:

We also received MPP Effie’s star-flower for the Tree of New Beginnings, and it was placed among the others collected during the Festival from participants of all ages and backgrounds.

We will end this article with going back to nature, both outdoors and indoors and say Thank You MPP Effie for all your support and say that we are also remembering our Spiritual Teacher who guided us to Pass it On (the Joy!).

Let me share this short quote from Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi – the founder of Sahaja Yoga Meditation – who offered thousands of speeches- and I found one from a Meditation Program for the Indian Income Tax officers on April 18, 2000.

I hope you’ll agree with me that it is a reminder for us all, especially with what is going everywhere in the world:

 “I always say that service people, government service people, are like the spinal cord of our country.”

“You have to develop this country.”

“You are also conscientious people: ‘we want to work very hard and we want to think how to improve the situation and work for your country. But at the same time we have to know what imbalances we are getting into.’
