Significant Echoes from Yoga Day on Krishna Janmashtami

A timely dedication to Krishna Janmashtami marking the Birth of Lord Krishna: Enjoy Significant Echoes from Hamilton’s Yoga Day Event

Lord Krishna’s Divine Play (Leela) allowed this New Beginnings Sahaja Yoga Meditation Public Program to be offered in the beautiful Center of a Shri Radha Krishna Temple on Yoga Day

Today on August 16, 2025 is celebrated the Krishna Janmashtami – marking Lord Krishna’s birth – and we feel inspired sharing our very special collaboration with the team of volunteers from the Yugal Kunj – Hamilton’s Shri Radha Krishna Temple. There are significant echoes from a wonderful Yoga Day Event that we want to share with you!

On both sides we acknowledged that an invisible hand arranged our first meeting that happened in Milton at one of our 100 Seeds of Joy FREE events where we were offering wellness workshops, being invited by another community partner.

(if curios) Milton’s Spring Bazaar Cultivated Seeds of Joy and Shared some Sweet Vibes in the Community

There on the spot we discussed the possibility to have talented Artists visiting from Holland performing on Yoga Day and honoring Shri Krishna’s qualities we learn about as Yogis

Sahaja Yoga Meditation Network of Volunteers from Halton region offered an amazing New Beginnings Music and Meditation Program on International Yoga Day at Hamilton Center

Do you know the Sweet Story of Shri Krishna’s Flute?! It’s Story time .. for Introspection!

Let us share with you this story that brings us closer to the Subtle lessons from Shri Krishna’s life while connecting us to the Vishuddhi chakra that this divine principle is ruling from within our own subtle energy system known as the Chakra Chart.

Take it as a gift connected to our practice of Sahaja Yoga Meditation founded by Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi- as we share the following excerpt from Shri Mataji’s talk offered during an International Yoga Seminar.

Shri Mataji: You become in the centre. You are neither passive nor active, you just watch, you become a witness of the whole thing. You see it’s a situation in which you are in the centre.

For example, I will tell you a very simple example, which will explain your question is this. When a person does something, he thinks ‘I am doing it’. All right? If somebody doesn’t do it, he says ‘I am not doing it.’

But supposing the Sun, he just emits, he is in non-action, he is doing nothing, he is just emitting.

You go into a state where it becomes akarma  where you do not do anything.

By doing something you develop your Ego. By not doing something you develop your Super Ego.

But by becoming Realized [meaning that Kundalini energy is awakened and reached the crown chakra]: it just emits.

You become a hollow personality. You are not there.

It’s a very sweet story of Radha and Krishna, I will tell you.

Once Radha was jealous of the flute of Shri Krishna and she said ‘What is so special that she is always at your lips?!’

So Krishna said: ‘Why don’t you ask her?!” It’s a symbolic story.

Radha went and asked [the flute], ‘What is your speciality that you are always at His lips?’

The Flute smiled, she said: ‘My speciality is that I have no speciality. I am not there, I am a hollow personality, His flute and I am flowing His melodies. People think I am doing it, but I am just a hollow personality.

So, you are neither passive, nor active but you are doing it, it’s happening. “

We hope you’re enjoying following the silent melody of this article, you get to know our Halton Yogis as well some of their friends from across Canada and beyond; with glimpses from this beautiful temple!

It was wonderful to have support from visiting yogi artists from Holland as well dear yogi friends from Montreal, Canada that helped with the program decorations too

The deeper we go within the article, it’s time to share a bit more subtle knowledge related to Shri Radha and Shri Krishna.

Please, absorb the following short quote from one of Shri Mataji’s teachings during “The significance of Indian culture, Public Program in Delhi, India on February 3rd, 1978:

What does “Radha” mean? What does “Krishna” mean? What is the significance of their names? Do you know?!

” “Ra” is the word for energy, like Radha.

Ra’ means energy and ‘Dha’ means the one who sustains the energy the meaning of Radha!

Krishna, I told you comes from the word krishi (agriculture).

Now the “Kr” word, saying Krishna’s name, immediately the Vishuddhi chakra clears out!

You have to say Krishna’s name because Krishna is related to this energy centre (chakra).

If he is related to the Vishuddhi chakra then his name can only be Krishna. How scientific it is, you tell, how subtle?!

But Sahaja Yoga is the path of love, and in love, there is no need to go too deep into these things.

“Ek hi akshar prem ka padhe sau pandit hoye” (Learning one word of love is sufficient to make one equal to 100 priests.)

That is what Sahaja Yoga is. There is no need for you to be a great Pandit, “Padhi padhi pandit murakh bhaye”

(Sometimes reading and getting too much worldly knowledge of spirituality makes you a fool).”

“We should become something.

“Something should happen, a happening should take place. This is about becoming, not talking..”

Our volunteers from Halton Sahaja Yoga Meditation organized this Public Program at the Radha Krishna Temple with the pure desire to share that Becoming – the Yoga that can be Realized

Clap Along with this Uplifting “Jay Ganaraya” Song with our Yogi Artists from Holland and Montreal!

Let’s Continue as we have much more to Share and You have even more to Enjoy!

We were pleased to see All Hands up, Seekers discovering the Energy Flow transmitted by Shri Krishna’s Divine Flute — the Kundalini Energy that exists within each of us ready to be Awakened and Lead us to the Yoga State

You can watch some video-clips showcasing the amazing music filled with vibrations that was enjoyed by Temple goers and by all Seekers of Truth that joined that Yoga Day Event!

Once we gather together more video-clips they will be shared with you.

The entire event was livestreamed by our hosts: the musical program as well the Self-Realization and yoga knowledge presentation offered by our Halton Sahaja Yoga Meditation Network team; it was wonderful to listen to our Guru – Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi – talking about the essence of yoga meaning as well to follow the Self-Realization exercise led by Mari-Joelle who was connecting us all to the Divine Flute of Shri Krishna.

It was such a memorable moment when our Kundalini energies rose high and tall, singing and dancing through us with healing coolness! That was my personal experience.

Our team is currently working on uploading the video that captured that moment.

Take a glance to this video-clip to get a feeling of how special that program was!

Right the next day we were were invited at the beautiful Radha Krishna Temple where we met with the larger team and everything was flowing around our common inner dharma: truthfully and selflessly share truth and goodness in the world, we realized that the International Yoga Day can be celebrated beautifully if we unite our forces and talents together.

It was wonderful to notice also how Mother Nature also sent also all kind of signals about how auspicious were our efforts to spread awareness on the benefits of Sahaja Yoga Meditation, especially around our team’s 20th anniversary of existence in the Halton region celebrated by the Burlington Mayor’s PROCLAMATION of SAHAJA YOGA MEDITATION DAY just the day before the International Yoga Day’s worldwide celebrations.

Therefore, we offered this 5-day Marathon of Wellness across Halton and Hamilton to celebrate our 20th year of Sahaja Yoga Meditation in Burlington and the International Yoga Day

We felt really blessed by all this creativity and opportunities of unity in sahaj togetherness. They all felt coming from above and from within, and even though so many efforts were naturally required, in the same time we felt pulled forward by invisible forces, like the Chakras of the Universe were rotating to inspire us and to make it all happen the way it supposed to be.

Lord Krishna was known for: playfulness as well for his diplomacy and magic flute that were able to bring people together, unite them in a beautiful collectivity in which truth, sweetness, pure relationships (rakhi, sister-brother auspicious bond that transcends the conditioning of “blood family only“) and dedication to God through Yoga (the supreme union) are revered and ideally practiced.

We have more to share about the Event but also about the Yoga knowledge so feel free to visit some of the recommended Articles and then get back to this one, it is not yet ‘the end’.

There is so much to enjoy, experience, and learn from the beautiful stories from Shri Radha Krishna. Though I have heard most stories while growing up, I now enjoy the subtle meanings behind them that Shri Mataji explains and this article captures some glimpse of that. To have the musicians visit us from Holland, Montreal and be part of realization marathon with love and humbleness, just like a hollow flute of Shri Krishna was very touching. We enjoyed being part of this amazing marathon and may there be more and more. Loved the article highlighting some special moments of those days.

  5. Kriti

Becoming…How beautiful is the thought, the concept so Sahaj, so subtle…yet it is all that there is to this universe. I felt a calming cooling sensation even while reading about Shri Krishna and Shri Radha. What their names mean and how it is related to our Vishuddi Chakra.

To be guided to this article right after Janmashtami shows how my pure intent, my pure spirit is letting in the right things at the right time!
