Day 5 – Anandita in the Heart of Canada – “Art & Spirituality” in Ottawa with Story & Videos!

How was it?!

Denyse, Ottawa says when Anandita sang the song ‘Jago Kundalini Maa’ she literally felt her Kundalini raising with the song!

Louise, Ottawa says her experience was out of this world. She felt her whole body was vibrated. She felt Kundalini all over her body dancing in joy!

Shivangi is telling us more..

This was for the first time in past 4 years of Sahaja Yoga in Ottawa that a community event was organized by a rather smaller collective in nation’s capital.

When we started, we really didn’t know what to do, how to do and how to entertain our guests from as far as Colombia, Toronto and Montreal. By our Mother’s grace, everything worked out in a simple but elegant way with spontanaity that now when we remember that day it fills our hearts with joy of music and dance!

together-in-ottawaWhen people started coming in, we were still decorating the stage, setting up music system and Anandita was trying to dress up in a small area behind the stage. It was a tough day for Anandita as she had travelled straight from Toronto and then she had to perform alone on stage without the help of other musicians or musical instruments. Our program jump started when Nandita introduced Anandita to the audience and apologized for the delay. At one point in time, there were about 45 people in the auditorium including yogis Arthur, Denyse, Louise,Sarita,Shailendra,Amita,Nandita,Anshuman and Shashank from Ottawa, Malcolm from Pembroke, Shivangi and Nehit from Kingston, Neha,Vasilli and Raj from Toronto and uncle Patrick from Montreal.
Ottawa being bilingual, we made it a point to announce everything in both English and French.

Anandita performed her best on Kathak dance, Bollywood dance, Bhajans, Sufi song and a grand finale with Colombian dance.

People who attended the program had shown so much interest in the Anandita’s performances that they even expressed their joy during the 2 minute break times between the performances. For some it was for the first time that they even heard about the words like “Kathak/ Bhajan / Kawwali / Sufi song or even Sahaja Yoga!”
Anandita also kept everyone involved by asking them how they are liking it etc. Once she asked, would you like me to sing or dance? Any guesses for the answer??? Yes, public demand was of course, Dance 🙂
and how could we miss the chance of wishing Anandita a happy birthday? It was the most memorable moment when everyone sang the happy birthday song for Anandita and showed their love and respect for the Colombian artist.

When the show reached to its peak, Anandita asked everyone if they would like to experience their energy called Kundalini through the technique called “Self Realization” and everyone out there was already ready to receive Mother’s blessings.

Denyse says when Anandita sang the song ‘Jago Kundalini Maa’ she literally felt her Kundalini raising with the song! Louise says her experience was out of this world. She felt her whole body was vibrated. She felt Kundalini all over her body dancing in joy!

Approximately more than 20 people got their self realization in most uniqe and effective way of music!

At the end of the program Anandita asked us whether we want her to perform on some bollywood dance or Colombian? Obviously we all wanted her to show her Colombian steps. Anandita graciously asked people to join her on stage for the Colombian dance and many volunteered to come on the stage and enjoyed dancing with Anandita.

Most of the people stayed after the show and took time to meet and greet Anandita and other yogis.

Last but not the least, we all gathered at Denyse’s place for dinner and shared the joy of being Shri Mataji’s children.

Our sincere thanks to Anandita for being so nice and giving us so much joy through her art.

Special thanks to the yogis from Toronto and Montreal for being with us and all the yogis for having their attention on nation’s heart: Ottawa.
