After working for 45 years, I decided it was time to retire and spend more quality time with my husband and doing the activities I enjoyed. My daughter was also expecting her first child and life held so much promise. This was going to be the best time of my life. My husband and I enjoyed six months together when we found out that he had terminal cancer. All of my dreams for our amazing future together started to unravel.
The only wonderful distraction was the birth of our first grandchild, Emmett.
He brought such joy into our lives during a time when we really struggled with the fear of what was to come.
When my husband died in July 2015, I tried to make the most of it by keeping myself busy and I didn’t take the time to deal with my personal grief. I started taking anti-anxiety medication to help me. I knew that there had to be a healthier way to balance my emotions. Being a seeker, I started to look for more natural ways to help myself. One day I saw an ad for Free Meditation and decided to attend — that was 2 ½ years ago.
Shortly after committing to Sahaja Yoga Meditations on a regular basis,
I was able to stop taking the medication.
The Sahaja Yoga Meditations were working!!
I always look forward to seeing the beautiful, loving Yogis who give their time and talent each Friday at Oakville – Halton Sahaja Yoga Meditation Classes to help us reach our self-realization and I attend as many seminars as I can.
Through all of the highs and lows in my life since I joined Sahaja Yoga (the birth of my second grandchild, Everly, and the loss of three very close friends), I have been able to keep that much needed balance. I truly feel like a member of a loving family. Each member of this family continues to work on improving their connection with their higher self as well as connecting spiritually with human beings throughout the world. We are becoming the pure spirit that we are truly meant to be.
The positive outcome for me with this pandemic, is being blessed with the time to join the online meditations twice a day. I am so grateful for the commitment of our dedicated Sahaja Yoga family members.
I believe that Sahaja Yoga Meditation can help anyone find peace and balance.
It has definitely had a profound impact in my life.
