Thought to be his only self-portrait, will be exhibited in the UK for the first time in a major survey of his work at Tate Britain. In the 200 years since its creation, the detailed pencil drawing only been shown once before and never in the artist’s own country. It offers a unique insight into the visionary painter, printmaker and poet responsible for some of Britain’s best loved artwork and will be displayed alongside a sketch of Blake’s wife Catherine from the same period (see below), highlighting her vital contribution to his life and work. These are two of more than 300 paintings, prints and drawings that will be shown in Tate Britain’s major autumn exhibition William Blake. Open from 11 September 2019 – 2 February 2020, the show will be the largest survey of work by the artist in a generation and will rediscover Blake as a visual artist for the 21st century. Incarnation of Archangel Michael or Saint George – the Saint Angel of England

Catherine Blake, c. 1805, by William Blake (her husband); William Blake taught her to read and write, and also to use his printing-press. They had a long happy marriage, even though childless. It’s known that on his deathbed, William Blake drew a picture of Catherine as his last work, stating “you have ever been an angel to me”.
William Blake’s Jerusalem explained by Shri Mataji
“`JERUSALEM“` by William BlakeAND did those feet in ancient timeWalk upon England’s mountains green?And was the Holy Lamb of GodOn England’s pleasant pastures seen?And did the Countenance DivineShine forth upon our clouded hills?And was Jerusalem builded hereAmong these dark Satanic Mills?Bring me my bow of burning gold!Bring me my arrows of desire!Bring me my spear! O clouds, unfold!Bring me my chariot of fire!I will not cease from mental fight,Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand,Till we have built JerusalemIn England’s green and pleasant land.“The poem was inspired by the legend that young Jesus, accompanied by His uncle Joseph of Arimathea, who was a maritime trader, traveled to the area that is now England and visited Glastonbury. An English sahaja yogini referred that Shri Mataji told the meaning: ‘Those feet” are referred to the Holy Feet of Jesus Christ, and also the expression ‘Holy Lamb of God’ is referred to Jesus, because Shri Mataji had said that Jesus went to England and walked through the whole country.” (recollection by Sahaja Yogis)

Shri Mataji – the founder of Sahaja Yoga Meditation – explained that the divine principles take human forms and the previous incarnations of Wiliam Blake are the following 6 and reincarnated as Kahlil Gibran.

- Hussain – one of the sons of Prophet Ali who was Shri Brahmadeva (the divine principle governing the 2nd – Swadhisthana chakra) in a human form as well the son in law of the prophet Muhammad who was himself the incarnation of the Master or Guru Principle

Shri Mataji: “So, first of all, they (the divine principles of the Left and Right channels in the chakra system) incarnated we can say as Lav and Kush. But they are especially helped by Saint (Archangel) Gabriel and respectively Bhairava, Saint (Archangel) Michael. Now, these two incarnations also incarnated later on as Buddha and Mahavira… Later on, they were again reincarnated on this earth – Mahavira incarnated on this earth as Kabir (Sufi saint poet) .. Buddha incarnated on this earth as Shankara.Also, Khalil Gibran is one of them. Markandeya is the same incarnation. “
Incarnation of the Disciple Principle – Who started Zen?
“We can say our mister Blake is the same, one of them (divine principles).So these come on this earth as poets, as devotees of God, of tremendous capacity, to paint, to sing the songs, to talk of God.And also they incarnated as Hassan and Hussein who were the children of “Fatima bi” who was the wife of (prophet) Ali and daughter of Muhammad Sahib. So that’s how they have incarnated again and again on this earth. It’s the disciple principle.And we had Lao Tze. Lao Tze was the Primordial master, an incarnation of the Primordial Master, but the Principle of Disciple was born as Bodhidharma who started Zen.”
