Kahlil Gibran about Mother

gibran_ Mother as lioness1
This is Kahlil Gibran’s painting of his own mother.

This is a portrait of my mother’s soul. The soul is there, the simple majesty.

Ninety per cent of my character and inclinations were inherited from my mother

not that I can match her sweetness, gentleness and magnanimity.

– Kahlil Gibran (poet, artist, realized soul).

(Note the famous Assyrian relief from the palace of Nineveh seen behind Kahlil Gibran’s mother is of the wounded lioness, projecting in Kahlil Gibran’s vision the immense strength, power of sacrifice and fearless protectiveness that resides in a Mother’s heart.  Kahlil Gibran is a realized soul – meaning that his Kundalini energy was fully awakened, flowing beyond his crown chakra, thus connecting him to the universal consciousnesses and pure knowledge.  Let’s observe how his mother’s hands are placed on the centre heart chakra aspect. We know from sahaja yoga that the centre heart chakra is bestowing the powers and qualities of courage, fearless, compassion expressed by the sacred heart.

Kahlil Gibran about Mother

“The most beautiful word on the lips of mankind is the word `Mother,’ and the most beautiful call is the call of  My Mother.

It is a word full of hope and love, a sweet and kind word coming from the depths of the heart.

The Mother is everything-

she is our consolation in sorrow,

our hope in misery,

and our strength in weakness.

She is the source of love, mercy, sympathy and forgiveness.

He who loses his mother loses a pure soul who blesses and guards him constantly..

Every thing in nature bespeaks the Mother.

And the Mother,

the prototype of all existence,

is the eternal spirit, full of beauty and love..

The word mother is hidden in our hearts,

and it comes upon our lips in hours of sorrow and happiness as the perfume comes from the heart of the rose and mingles with clear and cloudy air.” (Kahlil Gibran)

Advices for Problems at Mother’s Chakra

“Now, left heart [chakra] is the abode of mother. The left heart is intensely deep because of its dependence on  mother. when your heart has a catch, left heart [Anahat chakra’s left aspect], then the first problem that comes over you is that your nature becomes dull. Weakness comes over you. You will become a weak person. To fill up this weakness, you have to remember your mother, who gave you so much of love, and made you grow up with a lot of love.”

“Whoever has hurt the mother’s chakra or has been placed away from mother, or who has not received love, the nearest organ is the heart, only the heart [is caught].

Now, why does the catch of the heart occur to the human being? Because , when he becomes over worked, when he goes towards outer world, he forgets his Spirit [Atma]. Or, when he bows down  before a wrong person. Because this is the head, if it is bowed down towards wrong people, the heart comes under a catch. The left side and right side [of the Heart chakra] catch comes to those who are over-worked, whose “chith” [attention] is towards outside, and not towards soul. In order to  turn  “chith” towards  soul, your Kundalini [energy] has to be arisen. As long as Kundalini does not rise, Atma becomes just a light thing, unable to understand what Atma actually is.  Atma [the Spirit within] is the inner reflection of Paramatma [Universal Spirit]. When our “chith” runs towards outside, then we are not able to give attention to our Atma. And when we are unable to give attention to our Atma, it gets upset and when it gets upset, the heart activity also becomes haywire and sometimes becomes troublesome.”

(Shri Mataji – Public program in Kolkata, India on April 2nd, 1986)

Motherhood

“Motherhood is important: motherhood in your temperament and motherhood as a blessing to you. All these things play a big part now, that’s why motherhood is very important. that you have to respect motherhood.”

(Shri Mataji – Talk in Australia on March 18th, 1983)

 Pure (Sahaj) Knowledge as Mother

IMG-20150510-WA0007

Kahlil Gibran says:

“Knowledge of the Self is the Mother of all knowledge.

So it is incumbent on me to know my Self,

to know it completely, to know its minutiae,

its characteristics, its subtleties, and its very atoms.”

(Kahlil Gibran seems that is speaking about Kundalini energy, as any sahaja yogi can easily recognize the specific qualities mentioned in the above quote; don’t you say?!)

      Mother is the heart…
And Gibran’s work truly emanates from feelings of the heart…
Through the experience of his mother

I only realized the beauty of those feelings of mother…
      upon reading Gibran’s…
      “The Prophet”

      It is a wonderful Book…
      From the heart.

Kahlil Gibran knew how to express a deep reality with simple words ; his natural sense of beauty is one of the best example for a Yogi. When he talks of a mother, it becomes an hymn to the universal Mother.

  5. Sahaj

As we know the biological beginning of life is only possible with help of a mother, similarly the spiritual journey and redemption has to be done by only a mother. I am thankful to the motherhood for my existence and paving my path ahead. Happy Mother’s Day!
