Morning Meditation with A Murmur of Starlings & Sea Rose: Contemplate & Listen!

Let’s have this on-line morning meditation ‘together’. We need to make sure that the speakers are ON for an Amazing Music (sahaja yogis are the musicians!), then we open our hands towards the screen and simply immerse in Meditation while we are listening to the beautiful music (sahaja yogis are singing!) .. and watching with patience & pure attention 🙂 how the Divine Hand is gently drawing on the Sky with collective movements of birds dancing together as One.  So beautifully captured on video!  Let’s make sure we enjoy All that this article has to offer till the end … remaining in our meditation state, moving deeper, by reading the advices on Morning meditation as it is observed from a traditional (Eastern) yoga approach.  The mind is silenced with Images  from nature … and introspection..

“In the Morning ..the Divine Rays come in, the Sun comes afterwards. That’s how the Birds get up.” Shri Mataji

“So this special thing is your own state, where you are feeling the oneness with the Nature and the Nature is feeling oneness with you. So the Divine itself is expressing through Nature, through various happenings, through various incidents, the Love, the protection, the attention that the Divine is giving. And there’s no end to it.” Shri Mataji

Morning Meditation – Advices from a Yoga Master

Do not talk, Sit and Meditate

“Don’t talk in the morning .. sit down, meditate…because at that time the Divine Rays come in, the Sun comes afterwards. That’s how the birds get up. That’s how the flowers get up. They’re all awakened by that, and if you are sensitive you will feel that by getting up in the morning, you will look at least ten years younger. Really, it’s such a good thing to get up in the morning and then, automatically you sleep early. This is for getting up, for sleeping I need not tell because that you’ll manage yourself. Then, in the morning time you should just meditate.” Shri Mataji

Stop your Thoughts, Forget & Surrender – be One with the Divine by connecting to your Yoga teacher (guru) or to Nature

In meditation try to stop your thoughts. Watch my photograph with open eyes and see that you stop your thoughts. You should stop your thoughts, then you go into meditation. The simple thing to stop your thoughts is the Lord’s Prayer, because that’s the Agnya state. So in the morning you remember Lord’s Prayer or Ganesha’s mantra. It’s just the same. Or you even say ‘I forgive’. So you can start with Ganesha’s mantra, say Lord’s Prayer and then say: ‘I forgive’. It works out. Then you are in Thoughtless Awareness. Now you meditate. Before that, there’s no meditation. When the thoughts are coming or ‘I have to take tea’, ‘what shall I do’, ‘now what have I to do’, ‘who’s this’ and ‘who’s that’, all this will be there. So first you become thoughtlessly aware, then the growth of spirituality starts. After thoughtless awareness, not before! One should know that: on rational plane you cannot grow in Sahaja Yoga. So first thing is to establish your thoughtless awareness; still you might feel little chakra blockages here and there; forget it. Just forget about it. Now start your Surrendering. Now if a chakra is catching, you should say: ‘Mother, I surrender this to you’ (**)

** this is addressed to the motherly energy Kundalini that is within us; when Shri Mataji is leading a Collective Meditation than the present sahaja yogis will address to her directly as mother during the meditation; in the traditional yoga practice the student is called disciple; for obtaining his Realization the disciple will have the whole attention on his yoga teacher that is called as yoga master, being considered as a spiritual parent (mother/father) and guide. Thus, photographs are used nowadays because the photographs  contain the energy (vibrations) of the respective teacher. The Self-Realization, which is the subtle union or connection, represents the primary goal of any form of yoga or meditation practice and is the mandatory phase prior to the Realization of God, which is the absolute and ultimate goal for supreme enlightenment in the Eastern yoga.

Shri Mataji: “Instead of doing any of these things you can just say that. But, that surrendering should not be rationalised. If you’re still rationalising and worrying:  ‘why should I say this’, it will never work out. If there’s pure love and purity in your heart that’s the best thing; that to do so is to surrender. Leave all the worries to your Mother. Everything to your Mother. But surrendering is one point that is very difficult in ego-oriented societies. Even talking about that, I feel a little bit worried. But it there’s any thoughts coming in to you or any chakra catching, just surrender. And you’ll see that the chakras are cleared up. In the morning time you do not go on putting this way, that way, nothing; don’t move your hands too much in the morning. You’ll find most of your chakras will clear out in the meditation.Try to put your love in your heart. Just try in your heart, and there, try to put your Guru, in the core of it. After establishing in the heart, we must bow to that with full devotion and dedication. Now whatever you do with your mind after realisation is not imagination because now your mind, your imagination, is itself Enlightened. So project yourself in such a way that you humble down at your Guru, your Mother.

And now ask for the necessary temperament needed for meditation, or atmosphere needed for meditation. Meditation is when you are One with the Divine.”

Introspect – Morning meditation is of Inner Knowledge

“So, we have to purify our nerves. In that, Morning Meditation is must. If you are unable to meditate in the morning then you should understand that some or the other impurity has come within you. Some problem is there in side. Some or the other impure thoughts have come inside us which we have to see, know, understand and cleanse them. We have to turn towards ourselves and see which we call as introspection. This for your well being, not for others. First of all you must sustain your own well-being. If you have different kind of impurities within you, because of that you have conditionings, you have habits, your have environment, and many other systems through which these six enemies keep sitting inside the human beings. These six (subtle) enemies, which are within us, keep themselves hidden and every time they try to lift their heads and come up. So it is very important that we should not grieve or feel guilty and should not say bad about ourselves. You should not blame yourself in any way but try to throw them out of you.

Like Lotus, which comes up in any dirty, or rotten place. It comes up from all this filth and when it opens up spreads fragrance, it fills the atmosphere with its beautiful aroma.

You are just like that lotus ..

if you were not (that lotus) then you would never had come in Sahaja Yoga, neither you would have achieved it. You people are not insects, you are certainly lotuses :-). But, this lotus also has to work little hard to get protected, by looking at ourselves. Morning meditation is meant to look towards ourselves, that: ‘What am I doing? What are the impurities within me? Do I get angry? How should I get over my anger? Do I have the desires which are harming me and will destroy me? Why do I go there?’ Like this, through Introspection during your meditation you will come to know that which Chakra is catching within you and you have to clean it. You should clean the Chakra and then again sit in your meditation. It means that cleanliness and purification is to be done first. You have to cleanse your attention. In that little time you have to cleanse your mind. If you love yourself and if we are really selfish then we should know the meaning of this Self and understand that what are we going to gain by these impurities and negativities?! Maybe you gain some thing for a second and enjoyed. You should understand that even if you felt happy at that moment but you lost too much for that momentary happiness because you could not meditate means that your connection is not yet established. Now, there are many people who say that they meditate, so they meditate but it is not meditation. Therefore, it is very important to be truthful towards yourself. If we are not truthful towards ourselves then how can we be truthful towards others? This is for our own benefit. For our own good. .. Then also it happens that because of some or the other old conditioning of the past or the past problem they can’t meditate. Those people who don’t meditate in the morning cannot progress, no matter how much they work for sahaja yoga, whatever they do but they can’t reach to the depth of it. In your depth lies all the happiness, joy, bliss, contentment, ‘wealth and fame’ :-)… everything is there in your depth. All those things or obstacles which block or stop you from reaching your depth should be removed by loving yourself, by watching yourself and by understanding that: ‘I have this problem within’. Your eyes go very fast on the negativities of others. This is not your job! You should watch and look on your own negativities and impurities !

.. Morning meditation is of Inner Knowledge ..

Real morning meditation after achieving a state of yoga is perhaps the only addiction which is healthy, life-giving and full of sustenance which can give you a sense of peace, love and joy throughout the day. It has to be tried to be believed !!

I feel that words cannot properly convey the feelings I have now. This is beyond excellent – I love the selected lectures explaining what meditation is, how to do it, and the linked references so generously and beautifully(subtly) inserted for more enjoyment. Also, the sounds, colours and movement are stunning.
I am so greateful for this experience. A gift beyond gifts. Thank you and blessings.

The starlings, they move in synchronicity… not because they are following a leader… rather, they flow with the life energy that synchronizes them to be connected… and to move in harmony. How amazing is that!!!… just think… how simple and beautiful that is… and what we can learn just by watching their action… so open to the All.

  5. Kasthurie Govender says:

  6. Debbie says:

We are surrounded by such beauty. The lotus is a true representation of life and the trials and tribulations that we endure however, something so beautiful can blossom out of a very bad situation – we just have to surrender and believe. Thanks so much for opening my eyes.

    Lots of love always.

Beautiful morning meditation..great vibrations! All the birds are in sync simply enjoying their collectivity and connection through which they all follow the same rhythm. The birds always seem to know their direction and it comes from their innocence – their strong mooladhara chakra gives them this wonderful sense of direction.

Thank you for this wonderful video and article, I thoroughly enjoyed it. My Agnya chakra was catching so much, and this video helped me to clear it. I also wanted to say that I have travelled to Brighton through my job and have walked up and down the boardwalk in front of the west pier many times and receiving this video was such a gift! I felt like I was there again, only this time I could so appreciate the subtle yet exquisite dance of the starlings in sky!
    Breathtaking and glorious!

  11. It is very beautiful morning meditation…

The beauty of Sahaja music is that it is a bundle of vibrations and has the power to capture ones attention and bring back to the lotus feet of the Mother (the destination)! I wish that this music is heard by the whole world population at…least once!

Shri Mataji tells us “be thoughtlessly aware and then the growth of spirituality starts”

I purchased the cd for the beautiful music and meditation the first time Ioana sent us this. The divine rays come first, then the sun which awakens the birds. The flowing patterns are so graceful as the birds soar throughout the sky. It does bring the mind to thoughtless awareness watching this panorama. Spirituality follows.

  15. Elsie says:

I felt strong vibrations while meditating I felt a connection to the birds and to nature as they flew through the sky making those wonderful patterns as swooping so freely. The article on meditation gave me further insights and reminded me again of the purpose of meditation and I’m meditating to achieve this purpose
The phrase is so beautiful that I am like a lotus and the fragrance I emit is love and compassion. Thanks again

As I watched this video again, the Divine Hand drawing the birds gently moving in patterns across the sky caused me to breathe deeply. It is true for me when I’m immersed in nature there are no thoughts interrupting my meditation

It is a beautiful meditation Thanks

  20. Colleen says:

Thank you for posting this article and video this morning. I felt my heart soar with the birds, they just *flow* so beautifully. I have gotten out of meditating in the morning, I think it’s time to get back into it. : ) Thank you so much!!

  24. Sahaj says:

Morning meditation has a special importance for me as it’s very easy to get thoughtless at dawn. It’s like a dose of pure attention that can sustain you all day long.
