Jesus and Ganesha – Aum, the Divine Essence of Prayer

AUM, TO THE DIVINE ESSENCE OF THE PRAYER

sm-praying

Let our ears hear that which is True;
Let our eyes see that which is Pure;
Let our beings praise that which is Divine;

And let those who listen hear not my voice but the Wisdom of God!

Let us worship with the same song, the same strength and the same Knowledge.

And let our Meditation enlighten and enrich!

Let there be amongst us Compassion and Peace.

PRAYER to Shri Ganesha and Shri Jesus as ONE (Alfa and Omega in AUM)

Salutation to Shri Ganesha, who is indeed Shri Jesus*

It is You who is the beginning of all the beginnings.
It is You who is the doer of all deeds which have been done, are being done and will be done.
It is You who supports all things that are supported.
It is You who protects all things that are protected.
It is You who is the complete, all-pervading Spirit.
God’s Divine energy.

Subtle in Nature
You are All Knowledge, and You are the use to which the Knowledge is put.
You exist until the end of all things, and after the end of all things, You are;
You create the end of all things, and after the end of all things, You remain indifferent;
You are the Earth, You are the Water, You are the Fire,
You are the Air, and You are the space above the Air;
You are the Gunas; and You are beyond the Gunas *;
You are the Body; and You are beyond the Body;
You are the Essence of Time; and You are beyond Time;
You and only You exist at the Mooladhara Chakra;
You are the Spirit; and You are beyond the Spirit;
And those who would join God meditate upon You.
You are Brahman, Vishnu, Rudra*;
You are Indra, Agni, Vayu*;
You are the Sun at noon; You are the Full Moon;
Through all of these, and more,
You are the all-pervading energy of innocence and wisdom.
You are the Divine servant who stoops to wash the feet of saints.
You are the tiny core of all things without which the larger have no purpose;You are the key to the libraries of all the scriptures, without which the Truth is hidden;
You are the full stop which completes the sentence, and without which the sentence loses its meaning;
You are the Crescent Moon; You are the Stars; and You are beyond the Stars;
All things, from tiny dot to Universe, is You.
You are where the sounds combine;
You are the silence between the sounds;
You are the rhythm of all music and all prayers;
This is the knowledge of Nirmal (Pure) Ganesh, and You, Nirmal Ganesh, are the master of that Knowledge, and all Knowledge.*

Think clearly brain.
Speak only the Truth.
Let Your presence, awakened in us by Kundalini, speak;
Let Your presence, awakened in us by Kundalini, listen;
Let Your presence, awakened in us by Kundalini, bless;
Let Your presence, awakened in us by Kundalini, protect;
Let Your presence, awakened by Kundalini, in us, Your disciples, be The Disciple.

What triggered this article? Lately, so many at our Halton meditation classes were asking about Prayers in Sahaja Yoga Meditation. Also, while we’ve been learning about chakras and their ruling divine principles (energies named deities as well) that were many from our intermediate level who shared openly their heartfelt connection to Shri Ganesha who is taking care of the realm of the 1st Energy Centre: Mooladhara chakra. They were joyful and amazed of such connection, specially because most of  us are Canadians, born and raised in a Christian environment where we pray and feel easily the connection to Jesus.

Christmas time is near so it’s the right moment to explore deeper, also through prayers that awaken our subtle centres/chakras, this profound and essential onenes between Jesus and Ganesha (above they both are revered with ‘Shri’ as an ancient polite form of addressing in Sanskrit). So, I’ve felt that this Sahaj Prayer ( from Sahaja Yoga Meditation – Book of Prayers) would be welcomed by any Seeker that would Love to reach to the Divine Essence of Prayer and experience the universal truth through Sahaja Yoga Meditation. Other time we’ll explore more the power of prayers. It’s so much more to be shared and experienced. Share what you felt about this Prayer, please.

      It is good to be reminded of this beautiful prayer which is also contained in all the versions of the sahaj mantra book. We used to say it a lot in the earlier pujas in Europe.
      Heartfelt thanks it made me want to read it to morrow morning in my meditation!

    Especially during this time of year when we can feel an overwhelming sense of expectation. My hope is to feel connected and peaceful in the present and that is really what this prayer inspired me to do through it’s message of peace and love . Claudia

      There is only one thing to remember… “there is no love in expectation… and there is no expectation in love”.

    A thought on the comment … “let our ears hear that which is true”…

    There are two ways to be fooled…
    One is to believe what isn’t true…
    The other is to refuse to believe what is true…

    1. adrian

      Speak only The Truth,
      Cleanse with The Water,
      Awaken to The Enlightenment.

      Thanks Giving.

    In meditation last night and this morning I became aware of a connection between Jesus and Ganesha, and had been wondering if anyone else had perceived the same thing. this Prayer is beautiful, amazing and carries the vibration of truth. We are all One.

    I realize sirituality is not a complicated web of thoughts and ideas;it is just a simple surrendering to Almighty God. Shri Mataji taught me this through you. This Sahaja Prayer activates energies of hearts rather than of minds and thoughts. For me that is meditation. I thank you for this.

    My palms were opened while reading this prayer – Mother Kundalini was flowing in all her glory. All praises to Shri Jesus & Shri Ganesha. Amazingly and about 6 months before my mom died, she told me that she prays to Shri Ganesha – it was the same time I was learning more at class about this diety. A few months prior,a very dear friend gave me a picture of Shri Mataji and Shri Ganesha in a beautifully decorated keepsake. The knowledge of Sahaja Yoga has allowed me to surrender and each day, I pray through Shri Ganesha/Shri Jesus. I feel such a great connection and blessed to have the knowledge I now have. Thanks to Shri Mataji and Ioana.

    Lots of love always.

    I have always loved this prayer. When I first came to Sahaja Yoga, being from a broadly Christian background, it helped me find the connection with the true essence of Christ and understand the relation with Lord Ganesha. I often say it when I meditate and it takes me into bliss and Silence. I particularly find the part which says ‘you are where the sounds combine, you are the silence between the sounds’ powerful. When you say that aloud, the silence just fills you up.

  20. Pranita Rottmann

    I started reading this article as a “break ” while working the whole day…I had heaviness in the head.and after reading the first few sentences..it was gone….amzing, beautiful and pious….
    Let Shri Ganesha and Shri Jesus Christ be awakened in us!!!

  21. gudula

  22. SABYASACHI CHAKRABORTY

    Very much enjoy this prayer.

  23. adrian

    from the prayer…
    I am when I…
    allow the brain to think clearly…
    I am when I…
    speak only the truth…
    Then…
    I am.

    Good Day

    I am a full gospel christian but somehow I always had a feeling that there was a strong connection between Jesus and Ganesha, well let me tell you my story, some maybe three years back I had a dream that I was in a hall and there was a light brown statue of Lord Ganesha in front of me but he never spoke, then sometime after that I had another dream, where I walked down stairs to our lounge and there were large statues of Goddess Luxmi and maybe Goddess Saraswati but none of them spoke.

    Recently, I am not to sure if it was during December or January 2013 when I had a dream where I was outside and the weather was a bit dull and in front of me was a ceramic white and lightly coloured statue of Lord Ganesha and I heard a voice telling me ” I know that you are a christian and there is no need for you to pray to me but I will always make sure that you are safe. ” I then walked away so excited for the first time a God had spoken to me in my dream.

    Then on 26 January 2013, I was involved in a horrific taxi accident that claimed the lives of 5 to 8 people, I was seated on the front row behind the driver.

    The rear tyre had come of while the driver drove on the freeway, I assumed that the driver would park off onto the taxi lane of the freeway which was on the right had side but the driver lost control and the taxi moved towards the left hand side, has this had happened I heard my late grandfathers voice, he spoke into my ear telling me ” you are going to be with me” I was dead scared and feared for my life, I wanted to jump out the window or jump towards the back cause I thought I would be be the first to die cause of me being seated on the front row behind the driver we were so close that the taxi alsmost hit the wall on the left, it then turned were I could see the on coming traffic, from there onwards i closed my eyes and kept my hands tight onto the front seat which was the drivers seat with my eyes closed and I kept praying saying that God is with me so many times, my eyes were completly closed and as I said God is with me, Goddess Saraswati was around me outside blocking us from getting knocked onto something then eventually the taxi flipped over and I think maybe at this time I was onconscious, everything was dark and I had seen Lord Ganesha, in full gold, he was floating and appeared to my left hand side, then i was in front of him and he landed on his feet, as far as i know he had two hands and his right had was raised with his palm facing me,he then called me to his right hand side, as i stood there i could see other Gods in front of me, they all were smiling and their hands were also raised with their palm facing me and towards my right was another female Goddess whose right hand were also raised with her palm facing me, I tried to wake up but I could not, I think lord Ganesha had touched me then my heart spoke out that Jesus will save me this is when I had awaken. I was the first person to come out from the taxi then a few other had started to come out.

    On the following Thursday I had another dream, where my mum was holding a card and when she opened it, there was a picture of Lord Ganesha, and he told me that he will always make sure that I am safe and one day everyone will know that he is God.I have strong feeling that when Jesus returns he will return in his original form being Lord Ganesha,

    Kind Regards

    Wonderful prayer one day everyone will know that Jesus and Ganesha are one

  26. Priti

    Powerful, beautiful and full of vibrations. Thanks Ioana for sharing.

  27. Piera

    I am touched and moved to tears of joy from a beautiful meditation I just had where Jesus and Ganesha were dancing before me and then emanating the most brillant, healing and immense Light I have ever seen. They proceeded to invite me to dance with them and engaged the Higher power to channel violet light upon my crown, and it ran through my whole center, right through to the root and out into the earth.

    These are my 2 favourites sacred masters. I am not Hindu, and yet I have such an affinity to Ganesha and many other gods. And Jesus is and always will be my homeboy. It’s amazing how I then came upon this site and prayer.

    Thank you!!! From the very core of my BEing for offering this most healing prayer. May Jesus Christ and Ganesha penetrate the hearts of all who seek guidance, assistance and healing. Amen, and Namaste.

  28. Marlene Huneault

    As I read this prayer I felt a complete surrendering and a very strong connection to both Shri Jesus and Shri Ganesha. I have always felt conflicted about choosing one or the other to pray to, since I was brought up Christian.This prayer has helped me to resolve that conflict. They are both there to help me.

  29. Sahaj

    One is essence other is embodiment.
    One is path other is torch bearer.
    One is root other is shoot.
    One is innocent other is forgiving.
    How can one forgive without being innocent?
    How can one know about the shoot if know nothing about root?
    How can one bear a torch without knowing the path?
    How can one sustain an embodiment without having an essence?

    It will be my ignorance if I don’t acknowledge they are one.

    1. adrian

      Yet my ignorance may be the seed…
      That germinates into the flower,
      As the One.

      Am I listening to mySelf.

  30. Colleen

    Dear Ioana, Thank you for posting these Sahaja Yoga prayers. I also felt my energy rise to the top of my head while reading them aloud, and especially these words copied from the prayers “You are God in Man” have been helpful in my attempts to “understand” God, and people.

  33. Celia Tanaka

    Blissful gratitude sister Iona. You are the flowing water of the river of truth. I used to say these prayers almost daily before the internet arrived. Thank you for reposting. Let us remember those earlier days with Shri MataJi. So precious.
