Brilliant Tribute to Martin Luther King offered by American Students and Artists

Enjoy this Brilliant Tribute to Martin Luther King offered by American Students and Artists through Songs, Quotes and Vibes

On Martin Luther King Jr’s Day, people from everywhere are paying their respect to this great universal soul; reading, watching and listening to his speeches, we all are joining with our hearts, their unique rhythm.

In addition, as sahaja yogis, we have inherited the subtle recognition for Martin Luther King as a Realized Soul, that our teacher and founder – Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi – had so remarkably pointed it out times and times again.

The following is a simple heartfelt MLK’s Day tribute.

You are invited to check out each and every flower (video, song, link) from this bouquet — you will be surprised!!

Up To The Mountain (MLK Song)

Untitled

I went up to the mountain
Because you asked me to
Up over the clouds
To where the sky was blue
I could see all around me
Everywhere
I could see all around me
Everywhere

Sometimes I feel like
I’ve never been nothing but tired
And I’ll be walking
Till the day I expire
Sometimes I lay down
No more can I do
But then I go on again
Because you ask me to

Some days I look down
Afraid I will fall
And though the sun shines
I see nothing at all
Then I hear your sweet voice, oh
Oh, come and then go, come and then go
Telling me softly
You love me so

The peaceful valley
Just over the mountain
The peaceful valley
Few come to know
I may never get there
Ever in this lifetime
But sooner or later
It’s there I will go
Sooner or later

Songwriter: PATRICIA J. GRIFFIN
“We shall overcome – deep in my heart I do believe we shall overcome. I’ve joined hands so often with students and others behind jail bars singing it, We shall overcome. Sometimes we’ve had tears in our eyes when we joined together to sing it, but we still decided to sing it, We shall overcome. Oh, before this victory’s won, some will have to get thrown in jail some more, but we shall overcome. Don’t worry about us. Before the victory’s won, some of us will lose jobs, but we shall overcome. Before the victory’s won, even some will have to face physical death. But if physical death is the price that some must pay to free their children from a permanent psychological death, then nothing shall be more redemptive. We shall overcome. Before the victory’s won, some will be misunderstood and called bad names, dismissed as rabble-rousers and agitators, but we shall overcome. We shall overcome because the arc of the moral universe is long but it bends toward justice. We shall overcome because Carlyle is right, ‘No lie can live forever.’ We shall overcome because William Cullen Bryant is right: ‘Truth crushed to earth will rise again.’ We shall overcome because James Russell Lowell is right: ‘Truth forever on the scaffold, wrong forever on the throne, yet that scaffold sways the future and behind the dim unknown standeth God within the shadows keeping watch above his own.’ We shall overcome because the Bible is right, ‘You shall reap what you sow.’ We shall overcome. Deep in my heart, I do believe we shall overcome. And with this faith we will go out and adjourn the counsels of despair and bring new light into the dark chambers of pessimism and we will be able to rise from the fatigue of despair to the buoyancy of hope. And this will be a great America! We will be the participants in making it so. And so as I leave you this evening I say, Walk together children! Don’t you get weary! There’s a great camp meeting in the Promised Land!

The ultimate tragedy, is the silence of the masses, are powerful words spoken by Martin Luther King. In today’s world, it feels like the masses are screaming, yet we feel voiceless and unheard. Perhaps most of us won’t have a platform like Martin Luther King to speak on, however, we can speak the truth on an individual level, with each encounter, by offering a smile, a kind word, an open heart, to all. Let us make it a conscious practice to only put out love in the world. It’s free, effortless, and priceless.

Standing on guard together for all the innocent people of humanity. America, we are not separated from you, we feel such compassion. As Martin Luther King has powerfully delivered in his speech, a dream of harmony, not dis-chord, among our brothers and sisters is the only way to live. Awaken the compassion of decision makers to serve and protect all the world’s citizens.
