Who Really is The Statue of Liberty ?! Interesting Sahaj Facts & Connections to Chakras, France’s Goddess, Abraham Lincoln and 2 Poems on Her 125th Anniversary!

The Statue of Liberty is quite possibly the most photographed statue or monument anywhere in the world. As an ageless symbol of American freedom, she has stood silent watch through the Golden Age of American Immigration and welcomed tens-of-millions of passengers en route to a new life in America.(source)

We all learn in life that any coincidence is most of the times well planned by the Divine. Once we start learning more about meditation and chakras with sahaja yoga meditation, we can grasp more subtle knowledge that applies to everything in our lives, sometimes it does apply even to  universal symbols such as the Statue of Liberty.

The photograph above was specially chosen for this article, because if one pays close attention, the Statue of Liberty looks like a Goddess standing on a chakra (wheel/flower/mandala) – as the construction at the ground level appears to be.

The founder of Sahaja Yoga meditation, Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, had mentioned that the Statue of Liberty represents the Goddess Vishumaya, the one that governs from within Vishuddhi chakra (the subtle centre placed at the throat level) and who is acting as a protective inner force and that has also powers to expose and destroy the negativity.

Statue of Liberty and The Book of Mantras (Shri Vishnumaya’s Names and Qualities)

Let’s quote from sahaja yoga mantra book few of the Mantra-Qualities that describe this Goddess:

“The one who dwells in the lotus of Vishuddhi chakra”

“Thunderbolt-bodied”

“Dazzling like lightening”

“The bestower of courage”

“The bestower of faith and confidence”

“The one who removes self-doubt”

“The one who burns away negativity”

“The one who resides in the Left Vishuddhi Chakra as the great power”

“The fire power of the left (moon’s) channel”

“The Power of Womanhood”

“The one who speaks the truth and purifies the ether”

“Shri Saraswati, who becomes Vishnumaya power at Hamsa chakra”

The Subtle French Connection  – Chakras & Deities

Now, if the very first names that we picked up from the mantra book are so easily associated to what America’s ideals stand for, the very last quality we’ve cited can be understood only by sahaja yogis that know more about Shri Saraswati – the Goddess/ Divine Principle/ energy that governs Swadhisthana chakra. Guess what?! France is the country that corresponds to Swadhisthana chakra, when we speak about the subtle body of our Mother Earth. As we know, the Statue of Liberty was a gift from France to United States and it was created and realized actually in France, then transported in pieces to America, where it was assembled in its final form.

Let’s see further on how similarly we have the popular perception about the Statue of Liberty as both a mighty protective Mother of Mercy as well as a Goddesss.

“The New Colossus”

By Emma Lazarus, 1883

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning
, and her name
Mother of Exiles
.
From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
“Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!” cries she
With silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

The poem above is in-scripted on the Statue of Liberty.

“The Statue of Liberty” – Poem for Kids by Paul Perro

The Statue of Liberty poem for kids, by Paul Perro (presented below), tells the story of how the great Lady Liberty came to New York. It’s fun and educational, we hope that you enjoy it. (source)

“The Statue of Liberty is
150 feet tall.
She stands in New York harbour and
She gives out hope to all.

She is the Goddess Libertas.

She wears a long and flowing gown;
Her right hand holds a torch up high
And on her head, a crown.

The statue was given to us
By all the good people of France
To mark 100 years since we
Declared Independence.

She’s over a hundred years old,
She’s really a golden oldie,
Made from copper and steel by a
Sculptor named Bartoldi.

Bartoldi had drawn up his plans –
Copper sheets on a frame of steel.
The newspapers ran a campaign
To make his dreams turn real.

Building the huge skeletal frame
Turned out to be no mere trifle.
They needed help from the engineer
Alexandre Eiffel.

350 pieces
Were packed in hundreds of crates,
The statue was shipped all they way
To the United States.

She was built on Liberty Island
And she stands there still to this day.

She represents friendship, freedom, And the American way.”

Hope you’ve enjoyed the 2 poems as well the sahaj connections presented in this article that intended to honor this special day.  Here there is one last connection: because Today is still the 5th Day of Diwali (festival of lights) and quite a special day when (soul) brother-sister relationship is also celebrated, couldn’t think of  a better way to end our article other than the above quote-image realized by James, a Canadian brother yogi that now lives in .. Australia. Of course Canada and USA are sister countries on this continent and both continue receiving people from all over the world that find a new home ‘here’ as well their promised land. So the last connection will be with the page from US Immigration website that is dedicated to the Statue of Liberty – many more details and facts about this international symbol of Freedom!

Indeed this is a great symbol of our friendship between the Atlantic Ocean France and USA. At that time, French people paid for all the expenses of the construction, travel and installation on the new land of America. As Lafayette money paid also expenses of the revolution that allowed American to free themselves from the British leadership. France is represented by Shri Sarsvati and also by Shri Rajalakshmi, the Goddess of wealth that governs the Nabbhi chakra. So both these qualities of creativity and wealth have taken roots in America. French people were lucky to offer such symbol of their best character. The friendship between our countries is as old as America! Anaïc from France

Several years ago (before 9-11) a series of miracle photos were taken of New York from a boat which showed among other thing light coming from the crown and flame of the statue. When these photos were presented to Shri Mataji she was pleased to see that the vibrations were finally flowing be it just a little. Mother then went on to explain that the island that the statue sits on is a swiambu (earth formation that is emitting vibrations /positive energy) and that it is the Virata of the World.

There are so many connections in all the details when we start looking … from the Poem for Kids “The Statue of Liberty” by Paul Perro “350 pieces were packed in ..” The kundalini is wrapped in 3.5 coils. Looking at the statue the gown she wears looks like that of a sari and the crown has 7 points (chakras). The photograph that Ioana took with the rays of light shining on the statue there is a cloud in a shape of a heart on top of the torch and at foot of the statue is a larger darker cloud shaped like a baby facing the statue. Love the lightening pictures. The lightening looks like nerves and it is because of the vishudhi chakra that we are able to feel vibrations in our nervous system connecting us to THAT higher source.

Yes… I see the child… arms outstretched to its mother… quite a metaphor.

Maybe the corrective symbolism from the collective unconcious is that Shri Vishnumaya sets the boundaries for relationships between brothers and sisters. Maybe that’s the connection with France. Freedom is taken to the extreme in America, as in France on the sexual side. Best wishes.

Great descriton of knowledge, and thanks for shareing it.

Interestingly, New York is also the Hamsa chakra, The chakra of discretionary power.
